Yes, I know I promised it would be up sooner, but here it is. My philosophy on life. Opinions will only be left up until my opinion changes, so read them while they're new! If you have any suggestions for me to write about, email me. If a topic is up but nothing is written under it, that's just a preview for things to come.

LIFE

On Being Your True Self:  It's really not as hard as people make it out to be. What's real is real, everything else is just added on. All that you need to do is take away all those layers and underneath you'll find a scared but loveable person who wants to come out. Every day we put on our mask and go outside, and thats okay. But masks aren't meant to be worn on the inside. Nobody can be their real self all the time, especially around people who you don't want to know the real you. But never hide from yourself. Be mindful. Know why you do the things you do. Be honest with yourself. Don't try and rationalize things..open yourself to the truth of your actions. And don't forget to love.

SCHOOL and ADOLESCENT LIFE

On Denial of Trends:  I am so sick and tired of this.

We're all different. Look at us, we don't go for the norm. We wear all black and that makes us better and unique. You should be 'scared' , 'shocked', and all the preppies hate us.

I've got news for you people. Just because you shop at Hot Topic doesn't make you any different. You're still pawns of a corporation. In trying to be different and dark, you've just jumped on the other side of the fence. And you'd better believe someone is cashing in on it. You're so desperate to prove yourself, that people have created a whole INDUSTRY out of it. Once a new shirt comes in to Hot Topic, at least three people end up wearing one in school. Would you have bought that same exact shirt if it had been hanging on a rack at Abercrombie? I didn't think so. So then it's not about the actual shirt, its about the image you want to portray to the world by associating yourself with a particular store or brand of merchandise. I give the so called 'preppies' more credit. At least they'll admit they're conforming. At least they have the guts to put the name of the store on their shirts, because thats whats really matters, doesnt it? You want people to know that you shop at Hot Topic when you buy a shirt with some little depressed girl on it saying something depressing, or a little bunny throwing out insults you couldn't come up with yourself. Just because your shirt says something clever, do you think people are going to think you came up with that or something? It may be amusing for a second or so, but once the novelty wears off its quite stupid.

Do you think you're the first person ever to be so desperate to prove themselves they gave a rock on sign during a pan picture? Yes, we get it. You're 'bad'. I see. Now go away.

On the "Don't Judge Me" Syndrome:  I think really my point I'm trying to get at is free will. Everyone goes out wearing what they wear just so they can say "Don't judge me" but you know what? I believe they want to be judged. The only reason there is for doing something new and shocking is the reaction it gets from people, I don't believe that people wear what they wear because they just want to, I belive they choose how they want to be treated by society and I know this because I was there and I know exactly how that line of thinking goes. Having people "judge" you gives people something to complain about, to blame for a lot of their problems, and also to get sympathy. I'm sorry for being the one to break it to everyone, but if people REALLY didn't want to be judged, you would just wear the basic teenage tee shirt and jeans uniform every day.

PHILOSOPHY

On How Nothing Is Real: I know this subject has been beaten to death, but heres my attempt at putting it down in writing. Okay, there is so much in this world we take for granted. Like numbers. Okay they start at 1, then go to 2, and continue on until 10. Then suddenly 10 is this magic number where we decide to add another digit. But thats the way things are supposed to be, right? WRONG! The only reason we start over at 10 is because we have 10 fingers. If God exists (I'm making no assumptions here) that was a huge mistake on his part. Think about how much easier math would be if we had 12 fingers, and therefore a base 12 number system. I mean if there were two extra digits the numbers would go like 1 2 3 4 B 5 6 7 8 9 R or something, but 12 is divisible by 2, 3, 4, and 6, instead of just 2 and 5 like 10 is. Would make simple math tons easier to learn and remember, and make numbers come out more easily when we divide.

Anyway, on to what I was originally going to talk about. I believe it was Renee Descartes that said "I think, therefore I am." He was a wise man, but that doesn't necessarily mean we should believe him. You're reading this, and thinking about what I'm saying. But how do you know that? You may exist, or you may be just existing in someone elses mind. Someone may be thinking that you're sitting there thinking this. I know I am (I have to think about my readers). Take Occam's Razor (All things being equal, the simplest explanation tends to be the correct one.) Since the only thing that can conclusively be proven is thought, its mostly probable that thought is indeed the only thing that exists. You may exist, but for all you know you just consist of thought. Therefore, life has no meaning and we should all go kill ourselves. Just kidding. Hey, we're here in this paradox, might as well make the best of it, and stop worrying so much. Goodnight folks.

RELIGION

On Organized Religion: I have no problem with other people and their religions none at all. I just don't think any of them work for me that well because most religions have too many holes in them, and in my opinion whats really out there is either a lot simpler or a lot bigger and more confusing than what any religion says it is. A lot of people think that all religions are party right, I prefer to think that they're all grossly wrong. To quote from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series; "There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another which states that this has already happened."
